Holiday Boutique- Nov. 18th

Come and get some Christmas shopping done; drop off your Operation Christmas Child box; enter to win raffles; pick up some goodies at the bake sale; and join your friends for some child-free, adult conversation.

MOPS Swap

At our Friday Oct 7th meeting, bring your gently used toys, books, pack and plays, maternity wear, children’s clothing, etc. Leave a bag, and fill up your bag with “new” items for your growing child. Anything not “swapped” will become part of our Community Serve Rummage Sale, benefitting Community Resource Center of Encinitas.
In turn, an anonymous donor has offered to match any funds (up to $2500) we raise for the Community Resource Center of Encinitas, and donate it to the MOPS budget, which in turn helps us with our MOPPETS program, outreach programs, and of course, helping our community of moms. No full sized cribs or carseats allowed.

SBPC Community Serve Day- Oct. 9th

Come serve together with family and friends at Community Serve day. Community Serve Day is the Sunday where we worship God by joining with our friends and neighbors to do tasks all over San Diego County that make a difference and shine God’s goodness. Jesus sent his disciples out, asking them to do good works, to care for those they met and to tell them that the kingdom of God has come near to them. Through our acts of service we want to bring God’s love to serve and serve with, sharing the kingdom of God. Imagine yourself, your family, your small group reaching out together. If you have a service organization, or coworkers invite them along. Community Serve Day offers us a perfect way to bring our friends together, meet needs and make a difference.

SBPC Sermon Based Small Groups

Small groups are designed to connect people to Jesus Christ and one another in authentic community that will promote life-transformation through relationships, study of God’s Word, and prayer. As a result, we will be ready to engage the world as God’s kingdom agents; serving others and drawing attention to what God is doing.

Currently we have 80% of our congregation in small groups! Small groups are made up of ten to twelve people who meet weekly in homes to study, to share, and to support one another in their Christian lives. The studies are based on the previous week’s Sunday message using a curriculum designed from the message outline with additional supporting passages. Each group is led by a trained facilitator who is accountable to a mentor leader. A typical meeting lasts two hours and includes light refreshments, discussion and prayer. No homework is required.

Fall 2011 Small Group Session
Small groups are on break for summer! But they’ll resume in the fall of 2011. Our first week of small groups will be the week of September 18 and will run through the week of November 20. This will be a 10 week session.
