Wendy was born in Los Angeles, along with a twin sister, and after living there for 33 years, she and her husband, Brian, moved to La Jolla.
Her career choice and passion was interior design specializing in decorating model home interiors for developers mostly in Southern California. Part of the beauty of her job was the flexibility it allowed to raise their son, Chad and spend time around his activities. (She encourages all parents to put in their wills that their children must marry someone within 300 miles of their parents if they want to qualify for an inheritance). Her son married an East Coast girl and now the couple live in Washington, DC, along with their one year old grandson. Wendy and Brian visit DC regularly and just spent seven months renting a home back east to be nearer their first grandchild.
One of Wendy’s hobbies has been writing humor and she and her husband co-wrote a book for the sportscaster Dick Enberg, called “Dick Enberg’s Humorous Quotes for All Occasions.” Thanks to Dick’s promoting it on Superbowl Sunday it sold fairly well.
Today one of her passions is her involvement in a weekly La Jolla Bible study she started. She has loved being a mentor mom for MOPS since ’05 and her secret is . . . she has learned more than the moms have each year. She has managed to transfer her old email addiction to “more important things”, like golf, walking with friends, learning about birds, and rose gardening. And she loves talking to MOPS moms when they need a listening ear. |
